Rappahannock in Bloom

Success! The Sperryville Community Alliance, working with the Rappahannock County Garden Club and the Friends of the Rappahannock, brought 73 flowering trees including dogwoods, redbuds, and cherry trees to enhance the beauty of the Rappahannock countryside and provide important environmental benefits to the area. In Sperryville, private property owners requested up to two (2) trees per property. Planting sites in highly visible locations were given priority. The Sperryville program limited plantings to areas within the village of Sperryville, along route 211 from Old Hollow Road to the entrance of the Shenandoah National Park, and along route 522 to the intersection of route 231 (F.T. Valley Road).
